Summary

Job Title:                        Finish Electrical Crew Member

Department:                Electrical

Reports to:                    Plant Foreman

Location:                        Detroit Lakes, MN

Summary

Working with a production team or individually, the Finish Electrical Crew Member installs and inspects various electrical components such as switches, outlets, lighting fixtures, fans, hot water units, and heating and air conditioning units. Identifies electrical and safety concerns applicable to the installation and takes necessary corrective action.  Performs necessary clerical duties related to the project.

  • Installs electrical components within a controlled environment
  • Identifies materials needed using the purchase order
  • Ensures compliance with appropriate electrical code
  • Maintains inventory, tools, supplies
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of work area
  • Works in a safe manner and follows all safety policies including wearing appropriate PPE
  • May be required to perform troubleshooting and repairs at client site
  • Maintains a favorable working relationship with all employees to promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment.
  • Conforms with safety rules and uses all appropriate safety equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The performance of this position requires occasional exposure to the manufacturing areas where the use of safety glasses is required, and the use of hearing protection may be required.

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

 

The position lifts heavy objects up to 50 pounds, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs physical labor in a climate-controlled environment. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively jumps, sprints or throws objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Evening work may be required as job duties demand.

 

Travel

Travel is primarily not expected in this role, although some out-of-area travel may be expected.

 

Experience

  • Proficient knowledge of electrical materials, industry standards, and codes
  • Ability to read and understand schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, blueprints, floor plans and work orders for projects
  • Ability to use both manual and power tools
  • Ability to perform physical work overhead for extended periods of time
  • Ability to use mathematics and measuring devices to calculate length, width, height, depth, etc.
  • Ability to follow written and spoken instruction
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds comfortably and consistently

 

Education

High school diploma or Equivalent required.
