Dynamic Homes is a division of Ho-Chunk, Inc. that designs and manufactures highly customized modular homes for communities across Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Nebraska. The Development Drafter develops, revises, and manages modular home and light commercial design plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software. This role collaborates closely with architects, engineers, builders, and production staff to create accurate, buildable floor plans that meet code compliance and client specifications. The position supports Dynamic Homes’ mission to produce modern, efficient, and high-quality modular designs while improving production processes.
Use AutoCAD and Chief Architect software to develop, create, and modify complete and accurate design drawings.
Confer with builders, investors, architects, and engineers to review and approve design changes.
Develop and manage new and existing floor plan series, including structural options and configurations.
Translate sales-driven concepts into custom buildable floor plans for residential and commercial projects.
Assist production and quote drafting departments by creating detailed drawings (electrical, plumbing, etc.) for accurate builds.
Support the Drafting Manager in developing and producing all drawings necessary for multifamily and commercial project approval.
Communicate directly with architects, engineers, developers, and officials during plan development and approval processes.
Research and implement enhancements in Chief Architect for improved production drawing efficiency.
Submit plans and specifications to the State of Minnesota and other states for review and approval.
Maintain a cooperative work environment and promote operational efficiency, safety, and morale.
Perform all duties in compliance with company safety rules and procedures.
Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Required:
Associate degree (A.A.) in Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
OR 3–5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience using AutoCAD or Chief Architect software
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred:
Experience with residential and light commercial modular drafting
