Dynamic Homes – Dynamic Homes is a division of Ho-Chunk, Inc. that designs and manufactures highly customized modular homes for communities across Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Nebraska. Position Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor oversees daily material handling operations, including receiving, storage, distribution, and yard coordination, while also supporting building and grounds maintenance. This role provides leadership to the Shipping & Receiving team, ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient material flow that supports production timelines and company goals. The position also ensures compliance with safety standards, proper documentation, and inventory accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct daily activities related to loading and unloading materials, including proper use and care of tools, machinery, and equipment
- Verify incoming deliveries for correct items, quantities, and documentation; update corresponding purchase orders and accounting software
- Manage shortage sheets for each home and notify the Plant Manager and Customer Service when items are received
- Supervise and assist in the safe and organized storage of materials
- Oversee the distribution of materials to production and builders by authorized requisitions
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments and inspect all items for quality and accuracy
- Initiate and file claims for damaged materials or lost shipments
- Maintain inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to Purchasing
- Oversee the sale of new and second lumber material for employees
- Prepare and submit return material documentation for accounting purposes
- Obtain competitive bids and negotiate pricing for designated materials
- Monitor suppliers lead times to ensure timely ordering and optimal quantities
- Dispatch company vehicles to vendors for material pickup and delivery
- Maintain housekeeping standards to promote an efficient, safe, and positive work environment
- Enforce safety rules and ensure proper use of tools and equipment, addressing hazards promptly
- Purchase and inventory select items stored in shipping, including personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Coordinate disposal of waste materials, including scrap grinding, recycling, and sheetrock disposal
- Oversee outside yard cleanup and general grounds maintenance
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- High school diploma or GED; or three to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and management skills
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, and operating instructions
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Strong verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to groups of employees or customers
- Mathematical skills include calculating proportions, percentages, volume, and basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to analyze problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Computer proficiency, including the ability to use general software applications
- Valid driver’s license
- Forklift certification
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree or associate degree
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts; occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions
- Moderate noise levels typical of a production and yard environment
- Regular standing, walking, reaching, climbing, and balancing; occasional sitting
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception
Schedule
Full-time, Monday–Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Evening work may be required based on operational needs.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day as needed.
